I beleive this must be route number 23-521 ( http://kringom.reiseinfo.no/RuteinfoIISStaticTables/tables/ruter/t/23-521.htm ), and according to the time table, this bus only continues to one of the destinations, while passengers have to change to another bus in Sogndal if they want to go to the other destination. That`s quite common in many places in Norway, as there are not enough passengers to have two buses all the way. There are also two other routes (23-516 and 23-517) that go to Lærdal and Årdal, but they are apparently operated by Firda Billag. See more on http://www.kringom.no/
I have a paper version of the timetables From it I can say that is the route number 14-131, and the bus has started at 15:30 in Leikanger. By the way I thought that second bus to Årdal is waiting in Fodnes, near ferry terminal.
Aha, I was only looking at the longer distance routes, as I didn`t think they would use a 9700HD on shorter routes, not even as a backup. And it`s a bit easier when you know the time of day.
Then I guess the other route is 14-101. They both start from Sogndal at 16:10 according to the timetables. It is possible that passengers change on Fodnes, but then I find it a bit suprising that it doesn`t state so anywhere in the timetables. Most change of buses are generally stated in timetables in one way or another. Both in the online versions and in the paper version (I got one too, after travelling 23-520 Ålesund-Stryn this summer), there is no mention what so ever.
Also, in my mind it is kind of wrong to put Nettbuss as the network as long as it`s not commercial routes that are run on their own expense. Even if they are not run on PSO contracts yet (they will from 2017), these routes have always been subsidized by the Sogn og Fjordane county authorities. Some of the commercial routes may be partly subsidized too, but only on certain tickets and distances. The Kringom name has only been used since April this year, so I don`t know what would be right before then, but on any photos of local buses in Sogn og Fjordane since then I would use that name, even if the buses are not on PSO contracts or in the Kringom livery.
Ok, so I`m changing the network in description of photos made this year. On the others I`ll just remove Nettbuss from "Transport Authority". Thanks for advice! // On this route 9700HD is a normal thing. I think this Volvo replaced the older one (#66530).
Yes, I think that is the best way to do it. It is how I have mostly done it.
Aha, so they are lucky passengers there. I also didn`t notice that photo of #66530 was a 9700HD, because I have never seen one in that blue colour before at Nettbuss in Norway. The colour is mostly used on buses for local routes. You see many 9700S in that colour and a few 9700H, but it has to be the only 9700HD.
